A closer look at some classic Commando artwork

Keith Page's distinctive artwork has been seen regularly in
'Commando', both on the cover and in the inside in stories and
features, since his debut in No.2941, 'Odd Man Out'. Here we take a
look at some of Keith's cover paintings, accompanied by some words
from the artist himself.
A typical action scene from Keith, full of detail – hard to believe it's the work of a man with no art training.
Keith combines 'tricky' figure work with a detailed illustration of machinery.
Keith's love of historical adventures has led to striking images like this Civil war battle scene.
The Phantom - one of the characters originally devised by Keith before being passed on to the Commando writers to flesh out.
A rare glimpse of Keith's initial pencil roughs for a Commando cover painting. (Note the original story title – 'Ice Bound'!)
And the finished cover – 'Ice Bound' now under the more action packed (and punning) title of 'Cold War'!
